On 5 and 6 september there is a seminar on "oral health through public health",
dedicated to Aubrey Sheiham of University College London www.ucl.ac.uk/dph
WHOcc in Nijmegen celebrates it 10th anniversary in september 2005.
The symposium is named: Inequalities in Oral Health: Tools that make a difference.

On 16 januari 2004 DHIN will open its new warehouse. A new logo for DHIN will be introduced on the same day.
On 25 April 2003 Professor Wim van Palenstein Helderman has held his inaugural speech as Professor on 'Research and Education in the field of Oral Care in Developing Countries' , shortly 'Oral health Development'. This special chair at Radboud University of Nijmegen has been proposed by DHIN and accepted by the Governing Body of the Radboud University. Thus research and education programs will be started targeting on the special needs of oral health care for deprived communities.
BPOC - Basic Package of Oral Care
This report is a policy document. It presents the rationale that eventually leads to priorities in
basic oral care. It is intended as a call to action for policy makers (Chief Dental Officers and
advocates of oral health care at the Ministry of Health) and for partners in the development of
oral health care (Non-Government Organizations dental academia, and industry.
One of the main themes will be the introduction of the Basic Package of Oral Care.
On 18 September 2002 a new prevention and instruction site was opened. It is initiated by the Frysian division of the Dutch Dental Association. Although it is Dutch you might take a glance at it.
On 12 September 2002 the WHO Collaborating Centre for Oral Health Care Planning just published its report on a Basic Package of Oral Care.
The Basic Package of Oral Care (BPOC), as presented in this report, represents a fusion of concepts and approaches that have developed over the last decade. In presenting this package, great emphasis has been placed on approaches with proven effectiveness, that are acceptable, feasible and affordable for most disadvantaged communities.
On 19 and 20 april 2002 the NDO Leeflang 'openhousedays' took place.
These 'openhousedays' are a yearly event in which NDO Leeflang and many dental firms present themselves to the Dutch dental professionals.
NDO Leeflang offers DHIN a booth for free on this show every year.
DHIN is able to present itself to the visitors. So we are able to present ongoing projects, attract attention to our organisation, collect second-hand equipment and instruments, help people organise projects etc.

At the moment we only have the original German version, but we're working on a translation into English.
The WHO Collaborating Centre of the Radboud University has released its new CDROM on ART.
This CDROM can be obtained by oral health workers in developing countries by ordering one or more copies from f.mikx@dent.umcn.nl

WHOcc Nijmegen offers a short course to dentists interested in educating others in the art of ART.
